Phyllanthus emblica

Amla, Amalaki, Nellikai, Indian Goosebery is tree upto 8m high. Common on the drier slopes, the fruit of this tree is high in Vitamin C and sold commercially for pickles, condiments and medicine. Unsustainable harvesting practices are leading to a dearth of these trees in the forest. Cultivated varieties are also common in the market now.
