Preparation of Peoples Biodiversity Registers

Gram Swaraj is engaged in the process of preparing ten peoples biodiversity registers in Mayurbhanj district, Odisha in collaboration with the Odisha Biodiversity Board in 10 Gram Panchayats. Prior to the preparation of PBRs Biodiversity Management Committees are formed in the Gram Panchayats as per the Biological Diversity Act (2002) and the Odisha Biodiversity Rule (2012). NTFP collectors, farmers, traditional healers and elders in the villages are  participating in the preparation of PBRs.
