Canarium strictum

A large tree in the wet Western Ghats, the resin is harvested as an incense for religious ceremonies and for other commercial uses. Unsustainable harvesting practices are leading to low populations in the forest. Many communities depend on this resin for cash income during the season when no other work is available in the rain-forest.
